I gave an answer to this question in this post back in July 31, 2009:

HYIP/MLM News

Infinitiva is the latest Ponzi scam to disappear, and it looks like Panamoney will be next.

I am warning you, stop playing with these Ponzi scams. Unless you are a gambler, then have at it! Otherwise, stop! For your sake.

There is a real company that I have been with since December, 2009. It is Oceanside Network. They offer two webinars a day and show you the real account trading. They also explain how their exclusive, custom EA (trading robot) works and manages to create wealth. This is real trading and a losing month is possible, as one happened in *February, 2010; overall the investment is solid when looked on with a longer term view, as you should, it is an excellent return on investment.

I post the schedules to the daily webinars on my Opportunity Streams blog here.

This is the only company where you will see the account being traded live on the webinars, even when it is losing; who the brokers are; and soon will have a third party compiling the accounts (compiling is verifying the accounts as opposed to an outright audit).

I hope you do yourself a favor and avoid the HYIP scams!

* Remember that a loss is only a loss if you withdraw your money; as any monthly loss can be made back in subsequent month(s).

The HYIP programs continue to explode. That should not be a surprise. Ninety-nine percent (99%) of HYIPs are Ponzi scams.

In my quest to move away from HYIPs, I continue to be surprised. Why? Because, after so many scams, if I offer a person who has been in HYIPs and has been scammed many times before a legitimate company, they will not even look at the offer. My suspicion that the anti-scam trolls on the public HYIPs forums were and are wasting their time is just reinforced time and time again as I moved from HYIPs to legitimate companies.

I suspect that the allure of 40% and more a month is just too tempting, and what these people do is not investing but gambling.

Many of these people really don’t think. Would you rather have your principal investment and a modest percentage a month (or no gains or even a loss), as you would get from Oceanside Network, or see your principal disappear into a black hole?

I decided not to play any new programs and will stick to those programs that have already proven themselves.

Also, I am not posting as much, I’ve decided to concentrate on affiliate marketing more and more. At the moment, the MLM program I am having a lot of success with is People String. This is going to be a great money maker for me in the next couple of months when their Malbox-Cashbox program is finally put into effect.

If you haven’t looked into MLM/Affiliate Marketing you should.

As most of you know, Gold Nugget Invest (GNI) and ASA Monitor were attacked by hackers trying to extort about $30,000 from GNI. When Robert refused to pay they tried to bring down GNI using a dirt campaign and posting bad votes on monitors, when this failed they hacked the GNI website and because ASA is the endorsed forum of GNI and Robert was doing such a great job informing the members the hackers then started a DDoS attack on ASA that is still going on at the time of this posting.

Robert has managed to bring back GNI after wiping clean the server and reinstalling the script. And I assume, plugging the hole the hackers used to hack the website with more security.

The latest information from ASA comes from the owner Wanrou:

ASA is under another storm of DDOS. We have moved to a super quick server and have added 2 layers of DDOS protection, blocking many IP from EU and Russia but still can’t stop them. Our hosting didn’t want to waste their time fighting and has pointed our DNS to a government IP. So let those hacker and attacker fight with the government tech army for a while.

Wanrou

We were up for few hours after we moved our server and changed our IP.

Those hacker attack us because ASA is the supporting forum for GNI and I have been working with Robert to track them down.

It was more complicated than a DDOS…… script exploiting, intruding…you name it. A lot of works have been done and are on-going behind the scene to bring ASA back.

GNI members, including myself, received a disturbing email yesterday from an extortionist group that were able to grab data form the GNI database. Members are worried and with good reason.

But the hack seems to have been a simple MySQL injection in my point of view as the accounts were not messed with. I never panicked and told others to not do so, as Robert would take care of the problem as soon as he woke up. And he did. Here is his email newsletter concerning the matter.

You may have received a malicious spam email in the last couple of hours, claiming to be from a team acting against spreading of various Ponzi schemes. They state that they used the vulnerability of mysql and broke into our database.

They are also reporting that they haven’t found any trading activity with our script – what is by the way true, since the script is nothing more than a front end for our members and us as well, to manage and calculate your funds . Furthermore they are warning that our website will be closed in the near future, if not by us, by the senders group. And of course the obvious bla bla that you should withdraw you funds with us – and surprise surprise, they added three email addresses you may contact to receive information where to invest you money safely smile.gif

This is the really important fact of this SPAM email – thats what it is!

It tells us that the only intention of the sender is to disturb our operation and to grab you intention to another investment program, which is for sure a PONZI scheme, since no serious entity is using the means of SPAM to get your intention.

GNI is operating for almost three years, is as you know a legally registered corporation and has proven over the time again and again that we are a serious and reliable second income opportunity.

There is absolutely no need to panic and nothing and NOBODY will shut us down, not as long as I am in charge of this operation. Since we went public last year we have been attacked, threatened and blackmailed on a weekly base. The last email we’ve received last Friday and the blackmailer tried to extort $20,000 from us. Most probably the email you have received is a result of this extortioner.

This is the downside of such an operation! Our only aim is and was to generate a second income for you, our trusted members and thus offering us an business opportunity to support our families as well. As you all know, we are working hard to achieve this goal and have always sorted out any obstacles along the way. And so we will do again – today as well as tomorrow!

We are currently investigating how this SPAMMER got access to our database and assure you that we will take all necessary steps to protect our members privacy and integrity, what unfortunately is not a simple task, in times where even government databases get compromised. We can however confirm that the database has not been altered.

I don’t want to hide the fact that quite some of our esteemed members panicked and requested a withdrawal of their principal, as a result of this SPAM email, what is understandable, since you don’t know what is going on. We have decided to sent all withdrawal requests back to our members account balances, giving you the opportunity to reconsider if you like to stay with us – or not, now where I got the chance to address this issue. If you still decide to withdraw your principle, please request it again and note that it might take up to 7 days to process principal withdrawal requests, depending on the availability of funds in our payment processor accounts. This is according to our TOS. We will process withdrawals again in the evening hours today (GMT timezone).

Finally let me express my warmest gratefulness to those member who expressed their support of GNI and are believing in our project. I have received many encouraging emails from trusted members. THANK YOU ALL!

With best regards,
Robert and TEAM

One more note:

We are only processing withdrawals to Payment Processor accounts where the deposit was made from. So there is no way that someone can withdraw any of our members funds!

Update:

Several days ago Todd, GNI’s support, told us some great news was coming soon, he even had the members guessing. But since the hack, we were told that the surprise was going to be a much better script with much more security in place. This will be much better for the members safety and that of the program.

The OnisGroup is a program that has been around for five-months. So I really can’t say too much about it, as everything that could be said has.

As usual, I always look for programs that have a longevity to them and I feel the OnisGroup has a lot of staying power at the moment. It is very popular, too.

The OnisGroup website is hosted on a dedicated server with DDoS protection and recently added a Comodo identity assurance warranty of $100,000.

The OnisGroup offers three plans:

Silver plan: 1.0% – 2.0%, minimum $1, for 30 calendar days, principal returned at expiry.

Gold plan: 1.2% – 2.2%, minimum $1000 for 60 calendar days, principal returned at expiry.

Platinum plan: 1.5% to 2.5%, minimum $5000, for 90 calendar days, principal returned at expiry.

When I spend, I like to do it thru Solid Trust Pay. But when that option isn’t available to me I use Liberty Reserve. When I asked the OnisGroup why they didn’t provide Solid Trust Pay I got this email reply:

By the OnisGroup, July 3rd, 2009:

For as much as we would have enjoyed working with SolidTrustPay system with all its user friendly features, we have to temporary disable it for our program, due to some cost prohibiting exchange issues, which are specific to our company’s main investment activities.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconveniences this may have caused you.

I really have no way of verifying this explanation as I am not an admin of a program myself. But I must report that I have read other admins’ gripes about Solid Trust Pay recently, and, in my opinion, I have no facts to support it, I think that Solid Trust Pay is just becoming too strict with HYIP programs.

Yes, there are some issues with STP, but we should give them a break – they are a real great payment processor!

We just posted this information to the News section of our site:

SolidTrust Pay deposits and withdrawal requests July 11th, 2009 18:16

We have noticed this morning that deposits made with SolidTrust Pay has not been credited to our members accounts automatically, neither have we received notification from SolidTrust Pay that payments have been made. This makes it impossible for us to credit our members accounts with the deposits they made. The option to download a csv file on the STP transaction page is also not working at all, this already since STP introduced Phase 1 of their scheduled upgrade and features. Otherwise we could credit these deposits manually. We have already contacted the STP administration and usually they are very helpful and quick in responding to such requests. We believe this interruptions are due to their recent change of servers.

Secondly the STP mass pay system, what we are using to process hundreds of withdrawal requests on each day is not working as well. Therefore we are unable to process STP withdrawals today. We have informed the STP administration about this problem as well and hope it will be sorted out by Monday.

Sorry for any inconenience this might cause!

We hope that we will get documentation about new deposits sometime on Monday, as well as their ‘Masspay’ device to work again properly.

I know this to be true as Solid Trust Pay was offline yesterday for several hours due to maintenance and upgrades.

Well, I took a huge leap of faith and decided to spend in Infinitiva, Inc.

There are several points that I took into consideration for doing so. The professional design of the website; it’s one of the best designs I have seen on any HYIP program. A certificate of incorporation in Belize, provided from the back office when you register (not that I pay attention to these much at all). The number of registered payment processor recently added, Alert Pay and previously Strict Pay. And, finally, the DDoS protection, provided by BlockDOS.

As far as the hosting is concerned, it seems that Infinitiva is sharing with another domain that they deny has anything to do with them. The admin of Infinitiva did answer an email by a member concerning the other domain. The email reply was posted at the Talk Gold forum, at the time the other domain was fitogroup.com, now there is another domain on the same IP address, forexmoneyinc.com:

Infinitiva, Inc., June 4th, 2009:

Our IP addresses, including the one we are using for the domain infinitiva.com, have been assigned to us by BlockDos a week ago.
BlockDos was contracted to provide the DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack protection services for Infinitiva. (More info at http://www.blockdos.net).

I can only guess that the same IP address or a set of addresses previously
were provided for Fitogroup by BlockDos. We have no relations with that
company.

I tend to agree with Infinitiva’s explanation concerning the other domains on the server.

Infinitiva offers several plans:

Starter Plan 0.8% – 1.0%, 10.00 – 59.99, for 30 days

Advanced Plan 1.0% – 1.3%, 60.00 – 999.99, for 150 days

Professional Plan 1.3% – 1.6%, 1,000 – 4,999, for 150 days

Expert Plan 1.6% – 1.8%, 5,000 – 9,999, for 150 days

Senior Plan 1.8% – 2.2%, 10,000 – 19,999, for 150 days

Ultimate Plan 2.2% – 2.6%, 20,000 – unlimited, for 150 days

Although I will no longer post the programs that have paid me at the end of every post I make, I will say here that I did get my first payment from Infinitiva already.

Steve Smith continues to claim of broken records in deposits week over week. It could be true being as the membership in this program is massive. As some of you know, Steve’s mother had a stroke, but she is doing better as we were updated on her situation today:

Update on my Mom, First I want to thank all of you for your concerns and thinking about our family. Mom is doing as best as we can expect at this time. She had a massive stroke and the kind she had kills about 90% of the people that have them. She does however know everyones name, from what I understand the back of her brain was highly affected but the front is in pretty good shape.

Here is some news on the planned GNI members only forum and a warning of work going on with the script. As I posted yesterday there were some problems with the rollover plan not crediting the daily interest. Members who were affected are now posting on the forums that their interests were credited and that the problem seems to be resolved.

A word about the postings of the Weekly Rollover earnings. The script picked up this afternoon after the guys at Black Lotus allocated a bit more memory to the php.ini. It took us a while to find out where the problem was located. For the tech interested guys among you, it was set to 32MB and they set it now to 64MB – but it could be to much, what could result in a runaway script or poor server performance. Currently they are playing around with the php.ini to find out what should be the right memory to maintain a proper operation. That caused this warning about “Too many connections in /home/goldnugg/public_html/includes/functions.inc.php on line 0″ Currently the site is loading fine again, just be aware that someone is busy with the server in the hours ahead.
